Desert Storm’s Grandsire DiDi was an international show jumper @1m60 with Michael Whitaker and Ludo Philippaerts. He is also the sire of James Whitakers Come back DiDi des.

His dam line – Madeira GF- promotes the movement and athleticism of Samber and the rideability of Marduc, both qualities that can been seen in Desert’s progney. This dam line has produced 3* Dolley Whisper. She was 3rd at 2020 Houghton Hall CCI3* and 8th at Blenheim in the same year. In 2021 she was also 3rd at CCI3* at Keysoe. Her daughter, Dolley Secret, ridden by Arthur Pottier is by Jaguar Mail and is also competing at CCI3* - she was ranked 36th at Hartbury 2023.

Desert is a tall, short coupled athletic stallion, his quality paces with natural lift and balance combined with a super attitude towards his work and a good technique over fence make him a super sire to produce quality foals.

He has plenty of character but is a very pleasing stallion to have around. He is proving very bold and careful cross country and certainly is a stallion to look out for on the eventing field. Now competing at novice level he has proven very consistent and brave.

In 2022 Michael Potter campaigned Desert in the latter part of the season. All 8 events, barring one for an error of course, resulted in a double clear at novice level. The season finished with two wins at this level and qualifications for both the Novice Master and the Novice Championships at Gatcombe Park. The season of 2023 started well, Desert and Michael were double clear at Lincoln horse trials in the open novice section. Rain stopped play for a large percentage of the 2023 season but this left room for some British Dressage.

Emily William’s, our Stud manager has been competing Desert on the flat. He qualified for the regional finals at Elementary in 2023 and has recently moved up to Medium gaining points in his first outing at this level. 2024 will give Desert the opportunity to continue pursuing both BE and BD alongside his stud duties.

Desert continues to be a very popular stallion choice, not only for his colour but his movement, scopey jump and lovable temperament.

Dunhill Desert Storm is a Perlino stallion by the Dun showjumping stallion Dundee. He is 16.2hh and is a quality dual purpose sire with added colour. Desert has been tested homozygous for both the Cream Gene (CrCr) and the Agouti Gene (AA). This means he will throw either buckskin or palomino from solid mares. He cannot throw Smokey black. From tobiano mares he will dilute to either buckskin and white or palomino and white.

Notable progeny by Desert’s sire Dundee include ‘The Gambler’ who is competing at CCI3*

Showing quality paces with natural lift and balance, a super attitude towards his work and a good technique over fences Desert has proven very trainable and sensible.

He has plenty of character but is a very pleasing stallion to have around.

In 2013 he started his eventing career. He is proving very bold and careful cross country and certainly is a stallion to look out for on the eventing field. Now competeing at novice level he has proven very consistent and bold.
